The Boracay Butterfly Garden was established back in 2002 and was opened to the public in April 2005. This prettyl tropical garden has in excess of 150 plant species and between 200-300 live tropical Philippine butterflies at any one time. The number of butterfly species possible to see on one visit is seasonal but in excess of 20 different species is normal. Plants in this garden are labeled for visitor information, and the important butterfly host plants or breeding plants are emphasized to the visitors. All the stages of the butterfly life cycle, eggs, caterpillars, pupae, butterflies can be observed in either the main garden or attached nursery.
The Boracay Butterfly Garden Resort opens daily from 8:00am to 5:00pm for visitor viewing. All tours are conducted by authorized guides, but the visitors are free to roam by their own amongst these beautiful creatures, take photographs, and relax on the garden seats provided.
